KTM Base 500 in Austria is a distinctive environment created for high-performance vehicles, combining a hypercar hangar with modern workspaces, lounge areas and social spaces. Designed for vehicle presentations, events and networking, the project called for a lighting concept that could support the different functions of the building while showcasing the vehicles at their best.

The building features dark ceilings, black surfaces and striking architectural elements. To complement this aesthetic, the luminaires are finished in black and blend discreetly into the surroundings. Rather than drawing attention to the fixtures themselves, the lighting directs focus towards the vehicles and enhances the overall character of the space.

WHERE PERFORMANCE TAKES CENTRE STAGE
 

At the heart of KTM Base 500 is the hypercar hangar, where the lighting has been carefully designed to present the vehicles in the best possible light. The TRAIL OFFICE DARK CHROME linear lighting system with integrated TRAIL MOVE spotlights highlights the vehicles' shapes, materials and paint finishes while minimising distracting reflections and glare.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS MATTER

The lighting experience begins from the moment the vehicles arrive. Three linear LOG 50 systems create targeted reflections across the vehicle surfaces as the cars enter the Base 500, creating a seamless transition from the exterior into the interior and reinforcing the premium presentation of the vehicles.

A SPACE FOR CONNECTION
 

The lounge and relaxation areas provide spaces for meeting and unwinding. Here, BAFFEL acoustic elements with integrated MOVA spotlights combine functionality with atmosphere. The acoustic elements help improve room acoustics, while integrated spotlights create carefully positioned lighting accents and a warm , inviting ambience through the interplay of light and shadow.

LIGHTING FOR NEW IDEAS

The lighting concept adapts to the specific requirements of each area. In the meeting room, LOG 50 SD luminaires provide uniform, low-glare general lighting suitable for focused work, meetings and presentations, while complementing the building's clean architectural design.

In the vehicle wash area, 3ONE moisture-proof luminaires provide reliable illumination for the damp and demanding environment. This ensures the area meets its functional requirements while maintaining the consistent design language of the building.

FLEXIBILITY AT THE TOUCH OF A BUTTON
 

To support the building's wide range of uses, the lighting system is equipped with DALI dimming capability. Different lighting scenes can be created for events, presentations and everyday operation, while lighting levels can be adjusted according to demand to support more energy-efficient operation.
